One record per thing you own
Recordings, works and assets each get one record, keyed by the identifiers the industry already uses — ISRC, ISWC, UPC. However a track arrived, from a distributor feed or a delivery spreadsheet or an artist upload, it resolves to the same entry rather than a fourth copy of it.
Rights that live with the work
Ownership, splits and agreements attach to the catalogue entry itself, not to a document someone has to go find. When a deal changes, the thing that changes is the record every other part of the platform already reads.
Rosters, files and playlists in one tree
Artists, labels and imprints are first-class, so a roster is something you browse rather than reconstruct. Files and playlists hang off the same tree, which is what makes a handover to a distributor a selection instead of an export project.
